Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by the continuous increment of the blood pressure figures in the arteries. It constitutes the main risk factor of  cardiovascular diseases and  presents high prevalence in the current world, reason why its prevention constitutes an imperious necessity.  To such effects some aspects of interest are detailed, such as: risk factors, clinical features, complications and treatment, among others.
