Abstract

Se describe el caso clínico de una mujer de 47 años, de procedencia rural, ingresada en el Hospital “Emilio Bárcenas Pier” del municipio de II Frente, de la provincia de Santiago de Cuba, quien presentaba  desde hacía varios años, acidez, epigastralgia con distención abdominal y trastornos dispépticos. Luego fue remitida al Hospital General Docente “Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso” para el estudio del gran tumor abdominal que presentaba, por lo cual se le realizó gastrectomía parcial y resección primaria de este.  La paciente evolucionó favorablemente, sin evidencias de recurrencia tumoral y actualmente lleva tratamiento con Imatinib®, pero  se mantiene bajo seguimiento en el Hospital “Hermanos Ameijeiras”.
