Introduction: The plastic surgery has the mission of reestablishing health, the damaged human functions and restore a body image socially accepted. Objective: To evaluate the life quality of patients undergoing facial rejuvenation using simple and assisted lipotransfer with stem cells from adipose tissue. Methods: A comparative pilot study was carried out in the plastic surgery service of Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital between September, 2019 and February, 2021. A survey was applied and evaluated using a Likert-type scale. Results: The average age was 48 years, 100,0 % showed improvement in the psychological sphere after the intervention. The sensation of itching decreased and the perception of color changes, presence of wrinkles and skin quality improved, more noticeable in the stem cells-assisted group, 100,0 % of those that received stem cell-assisted lipotransfer had an immediate recovery, compared to 61 % that received simple lipotransfer (p=0.005). Two small complications were presented (5.3 %). All patients were satisfied. After the intervention, 100,0 % of those that received simple lipotransfer rated their life quality as acceptable, as did 40.5 % of those that received stem cells-assisted lipotransfer, 19% of the latter group rating it as good. Conclusion: Improvements in the explored domains were higher in patients that received the lipograft enriched with of adipose tissue-derived stem cells compared to those that received the simple treatment.Downloads
