Introduction: There are multiple treatments for the stomatologic emergencies, means or alternative instruments are also used to offer relief or contribute to the conventional treatments, and one of these instruments is laser therapy.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of low power laser, combined with drug treatment in transitory pulpitis.
Methods: The study population was constituted by 40 patients that went to the Stomatology Service of Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, from March, 2021 to March, 2022; which were divided into study group and group control. The first group received conventional treatment combined with laser therapy and the second group, only received conventional treatment.
Results: There was a prevalence of the female sex (60.0 %), while the most frequent ages were 19 to 59, where 87.5% of the patients were grouped. Molars were the most affected (42.5 %) in the study group, 90.0 % of the patients got into remission 7 days later, what shows a higher effectiveness than the group study.
Conclusions: Laser constituted a more effective therapeutic option due to its antinflammatory and analgesic effects.
