Psychosocial diagnosis for the selfcare in patients with hypertension

Introduction: The current investigation reveals the importance of self-care in patients with hypertension to avoid complications in their health, from a health promotion approach.
Objective: to carry out a psychosocial diagnosis for the increment of self-care in patients from "30 de Noviembre" Polyclinic with hypertension and risk of presenting chronic renal disease, from September, 2023 to April, 2024.
Methods: A descriptive and observational study was carried out, of 10 patients who belonged to the No.7 doctor office of 30 de Noviembre Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba. The methods used were observation, interview and medical records review; the necessary instruments were: test of Morisky-Green, test of Battle, Questionnaire of Life style Profile (PEPS-I) and symptoms Inventory SCL-90-R; verticalized by methodology of mixed investigation and the phenomenologic paradigm as platform.
Results: There was a prevalence of the médium level of knowledge, as well as therapeutic adherence and inadequate life styles. The most frequent emotional disorders were anxiety and fear.
Conclusions: there fore, by describing the behavior of factors that influence self-care, more comprehensive and effective health promotion strategies can be created. Reason why the use of this information as a proposal will support the creation of new types of schemes, research, and Projects on self-care in individuals with hypertension and other health problems, in order to systematize, outline, and share these experiences to improve health promotion systems.
