Introduction:Uterine myoma is the most common benign pelvic tumor in patients of reproductive age, and its symptoms often affect the quality of life of affected women.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of catgut puncture in the treatment of patients with uterine myoma according to traditional diagnosis.
Methods: A quasi-experimental therapeutic intervention study without a control group was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of this therapy in patients diagnosed with uterine myoma treated in the Natural and Traditional Medicine service of Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso General Hospital from September, 2023 to July, 2025. A population of 42 patients was studied. Variables such as age, myoma size, clinical manifestations, and response to treatment were used. For descriptive analysis, percentage, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation were used. McNemar’s nonparametric test was used with a significance level of α=0.05.
Results: The predominant age group was 40 to 49 years, and the traditional diagnosis was Qi stagnation. The improvement in clinical manifestations was significant.
Conclusions: It was concluded that catgut puncture was effective in patients with uterine fibroid.
