Toxoplasma gondii infection in an adolescent

The case report of a 12 year adolescent is presented, who began to present repeated feverish patterns and adenopathy since he was a child, reason why he was hospitalized 5 times. Later on, other complications appeared (allergic condition, food intoxication, adenoiditis and chronic tonsillitis) and the patient was referred to the oncohematology service of the Southern Children Hospital in Santiago de Cuba. A sample to carry out toxoplasma test was taken, which was sent to "Pedro Kourí" Tropical Medicine Institute where a toxoplasmosis was diagnosed. Specific treatment with clindamicine was indicated and he had a favorable clinical course.
