Abstract

Introduction: The lack of digital skills generates burnout and affects mental health.

Objective: To evaluate digital literacy and  burnout during the development of digital psicho-labor skills in Peruvian elderly teachers.

Methods: Twenty seven university teachers over 60 years of age were studied. An on-line survey was applied that was validated with Cronbach alpha (α= 0.73). The Spearman Rho test showed a significant result for the research of p≤0.05.

Results: Only 48% of teachers consider themselves skilled in digital tools, but 70% perceive a negative impact on their efficiency, where 78% experience burnout. Dissatisfaction was assessed using the Likert scale. There was moderate correlation between digital literacy and mental burnout (r = 0.5350, p = 0.0064).

Conclusions: The digital gap in elderly teachers affected their efficiency and well-being. Poor training highlights the necessity for urgent interventions to reduce burnout and  promote selfcare.
