Design and validation of a questionnaire to characterize the teaching and scientific training
Abstract
Introduction: The questionnaire is designed for the investigation aimed at quantifying and generalizing its results. Their validation has great importance, because the obtained data can lead to wrong conclusions.
Objective: To characterize the teaching and scientific training of health professionals of the military hospitals by means of a questionnaire.
Method: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out during the period of December 2023 to May 2024. The population was constituted by 102 health professionals with teaching category from Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany Military Hospital and the sample by 61 professionals selected after a simple random sampling. Ten experts of the referred hospital were interviewed. After the questionnaire was prepared, reliability and stability were validated using test-retest and Kendall´s W coefficient of concordance. For reliability, Cronbach´s Alpha coefficient was used, and for content reliability, Moriyama´s methodology was used.
Results: It was verified that the designed questionnaire has stability and reliability.
With regard to criterion validity, the experts agreed regarding the questions developed and the application of the Moriyama test verified that both the general structure of the questionnaire and the number, quality, interpretability and content of its items are adequate.
Conclusions: The results obtained with the methodology used, allow us to offer a valid and reliable research instrument.
